The Seyvrathi, Lanterns of the Dying Light

The Seyvrathi are the Star-Bound shepherds of Aelyndara, sacred guides who walk beside the dying and carry lost souls through mana, memory, and song. Born from the First Whisper and the vow of Vaelis the Listener, they do not command death, but tend it with solemn grace — bearing soulorbs, death-chords, and ancient rites so that no spirit fades unseen, and every final breath may find its way back into light.

Sacred Death-Rite Order, Star-Bound Soul Shepherds, Seyvrathi Passage Record

Known Location

Aelyndara, the Light’s Cradle, with twelve sacred Seyvrathi temples aligned across the island’s leyline crossings, and their highest sanctuary, the Temple of Thousand Whispers, hidden beneath the Auralith where the Mana Currents gather around the Synncryst

Known Condition

Active and revered, yet increasingly strained, the Seyvrathi remain one of Aelyndara’s most sacred orders as the Mana Currents swell with restless souls, the Synncryst hums with greater urgency, and their ancient passage rites face burdens not seen since the Age of First Dimming.

Associated Factions

The Nyvannir, the spirit-attuned people of Aelyndara from whom the Seyvrathi arise; The Soulshapers, memory-weavers who help transform grief into remembrance; The Whisper-Tenders, interpreters of spirit-voices, dream-echoes, and unstable crossings; The Thaleon Dynasty, elemental stewards of the Auralith and its buried Synncryst; The Twelve Spiral Custodians, dream-chosen guides of Nyvarra’s sacred civic balance; The Veil-Singers, harmonic choirs who calm the Mana Currents through song; The Rootvault Keepers, burial custodians who tend the sacred tree-tombs of the dead.

Associated Faith

The Seyvrathi Passage-Rite — the sacred death-faith of Aelyndara, rooted in the belief that death is not an ending, but movement through mana, memory, and song. Centered on the Mana Currents, soulorbs, death-chords, the Ceremony of Unbinding, the Lamentum, and the final return known as Elarion, this faith teaches that no soul should be left to drift unseen, and that the living carry a holy responsibility to guide, remember, and release the dead with dignity.
