Bloodfiend

The Bloodfiend is a colossal corpse-born horror of cursed battlefields, a rotting vessel of butchered spirits and old war-rage, rising where blood has soaked too deeply into the soil to be forgotten — its blue eyes burning with the dead who cannot rest, and its flesh moving with the terrible hunger of lives violently denied.

Known Location

Bloodfiends rise from the oldest killing grounds of the Shattered Dominion — cursed battlefields, ruined war-halls, burial trenches, plague-soaked marches, and forgotten places where so much blood entered the soil that the land learned to hunger back. They are most often found where the dead were never named, never burned, never blessed, and never allowed to leave.

Known Condition

Bloodfiends are active, unstable, and spiritually unresolved — not living beasts, but war-curses given mass, sinew, and hunger. Each one is a walking grave-collapse, held together by butchered souls that cannot pass on and flesh that should have rotted centuries ago. They do not heal so much as refuse to finish dying, dragging old battlefield rage through the dark until light, soul-reaping rites, or Lantern-born judgment tears the dead loose from the corpse.

Associated Factions

Bloodfiends hold no true allegiance, but are counted among The Restless Dead — the cursed, unshriven, and violently bound dead of Astryon. They are hunted by the Silent Veil, feared by battlefield priests of the Astral Faith, and sometimes sought by necromantic war-cults, corpse-binders, and relic-harvesters foolish enough to believe old battlefield rage can be chained before it turns on the hand that summons it.

Associated Faith

Bloodfiends are most closely tied to the Grave-War Lament, an old battlefield death-belief born among soldiers, widows, and corpse-burners who feared that violent dead left unnamed would rise hungry from the soil. The Astral Faith condemns them as failed passage made flesh, while the Silent Veil treats them as proof of its harshest doctrine: that some dead cannot be mourned into peace, only severed, bound, and carried away before their grief learns to walk.

Threat Level

Threat Level: Extreme / Colossal Restless Dead Hazard A Bloodfiend is not merely an undead brute; it is a battlefield that learned to stand upright. Its danger lies in the mass of unresolved dead bound inside it, the cursed flesh refusing burial, and the war-rage that drives it toward anything still warm enough to bleed. Ordinary weapons may slow the body, but only magical light, soul-severing rites, or Lantern-born judgment can truly break the spirits from the corpse-host before it rises again from the old hunger of the soil.
