The Starlight Haven & The Veilgrove Outlands
The Starlight Haven is a hearthlit refuge in the Veilgrove Outlands, where fading starlight, road-weary travelers, old merchant blood, hidden spies, velvet secrets, and buried astronomer-stones gather beneath one weathered roof — offering warmth to the weary, rumors to the watchful, and one fragile night of comfort before the road remembers what it came to collect.

Known Location
The Starlight Haven stands within the Veilgrove Outlands, along the southern forest-border roads beyond Alyndor, where the Elaran Tradelanes begin to slip from royal polish into mist, orchard-shadow, horse country, and older wilderness. It rests near the old village once called Rivenleaf Post, built where caravan routes, merchant estates, Silent Veil waypaths, and moonlit forest trails meet beneath fading starlight.
Known Condition
Warm, active, beloved, and far less innocent than it appears. The Haven remains a functioning roadside refuge — its hearth lit, its stables busy, its rooms filled with traders, soldiers, couriers, spies, drunkards, fugitives, and pilgrims who need one night of comfort before the road hardens again. Yet beneath its charm, the inn carries three centuries of overheard secrets, old astronomer stones under its foundation, Veil activity in its upper rooms, and a quiet reputation for dreams that feel too ancient to belong to ordinary sleep. It is safe enough to enter, wise enough not to trust, and old enough to remember more than any inn should.
Associated Factions
The Starlight Haven moves quietly between many hands without ever seeming to belong to any of them: the old merchant families of the Veilgrove, the Elaran Tradelane caravans, Alyndor’s Royal Guard patrols, Council couriers, Veilspine horse-breeders, discreet relic-brokers, and the Silent Veil agents who pass through under borrowed names. Its closest shadow-alliance is with The Rose of the Grove, whose velvet rooms and sealed ledgers make the village less an innocent roadside stop than a soft-spoken intelligence web beneath the fading starlight.
Associated Faith
The Haven is tied most strongly to the Astral Faith of Alyndor, though in the Outlands that faith is older, earthier, and less polished by temple hands. Here, reverence for the Astral Tree survives through hearth rites, equinox candles, Feast of Falling Light processions, river offerings, star-watching customs, and the quiet belief that names should be spoken aloud before the dark can take them. Beneath that sanctioned devotion lingers an older local starlight tradition — half faith, half superstition — rooted in buried astronomer stones, dream-haunted sleep, and the uneasy sense that the stars above the Haven are not merely watching, but remembering.

Threat Level
Moderate / Veilgrove Intelligence Hazard The Starlight Haven is not dangerous in the manner of a battlefield, beast-den, or cursed ruin; its threat lies in proximity, rumor, and the old art of overheard things. It remains a welcoming refuge for travelers, but beneath its hearth-warm charm sits a quiet web of merchant interests, Veil passages, Royal Guard movement, brothel-ledger secrets, buried astronomer stones, and dreams that do not always belong to the sleeper. The Haven is safe enough for the weary to love, but dangerous enough that a careless word spoken over ale may reach Alyndor before dawn wearing someone else’s name.
