evening, quiet tonight huh
afternoon, slow day at work so here i am
work trip this week, hotel reading is underrated
back from vacation, missed this place
hey, been lurking for weeks, figured i'd finally say something
just moved to a new city, this chat keeps me company
just found my first hidden cardback in the scavenger hunt
the Star-Veil reading was surprisingly accurate lol
back after a few days away, anything new?
back, what'd i miss
the character art in the dossiers is gorgeous
spent way too much dust at the bazaar again
hey everyone
new chapter when??
that one hit harder than i expected too
rain on the window and a long chapter, cannot beat it
hello, been lurking for a while
lol fair enough
the tree does not answer is such a mean card to play against
does murktail ever stop being useful or should i stop investing in it
how do you decide what to read next when everything's good
i should be sleeping not pulling packs
friday night and I have no social obligations, perfect
same honestly
anyone else read to wind down and then stay up too late
just found my first hidden cardback in the scavenger hunt
disagree but respectfully
the gallery art is genuinely good, like actual good
should be sleeping but here I am
this series got me back into reading properly
evening folks
still mad about what happened to valen ngl
every time, the dossiers are better on a second pass, you notice what they are not saying
couldn't agree more
huh, never noticed that, going back to reread
anyone else trade at the bazaar?
hey everyone
finally have a day off, spending it here apparently
friday night and I have no social obligations, perfect
anyone else read to wind down and then stay up too late
that is fair, i will give you that
hello, new account, old reader
ledger of necessary lies is my favorite card name in the whole set
you have just sold me on a reread
the card art in this set is incredible
no way, really?
i have officially run out of shelf space
the way grief is handled in these chapters is really well done
i love that nothing in this world is explained twice
why does no one in alyndor ever say the word cleansing out loud, that has to be deliberate
disagree but respectfully
the commute is the only time i get to read lately
yeah that one got me too
just read the high reaper's gift, was not ready for that
the bazaar prices are getting ridiculous tbh
back from a trip, catching up on everything
i have read the same paragraph three times because it was good
lol fair enough
old scar of the blackwood carried me through three quests
he is guessing, and he is the only one honest enough to admit it
just read all the keeper notes back to back
cold outside, blanket on, tea going, ideal
oof yeah
nah you're wrong on that one
rainy day, perfect for reading
hey, anyone on
hello from across the pond
that is the part that got me as well
anyone else read to avoid thinking about work or is that just me
evening all
no argument here
anyone else lose track of time reading the lore vault?
the scavenger hunt was actually really fun
Mr. Gambit's dialogue is hilarious
the art on the newest one is genuinely beautiful
anyone else find the second arc stronger than the first
the hearth table atmosphere is just perfect
does murktail ever stop being useful or should i stop investing in it
question for the room: do you reread series or always start something new
late night crew checking in
quick hello from work, don't tell my boss
the character dossier on Corvin Ashveil is so detailed
is varan actually falling or was he always this and the crown just stopped hiding it
question for the long time readers, does the whispering get explained or do we just live with it
checking in, still alive, still reading
hello from the night shift
rainy day, perfect for reading
just finished the newest record, need a minute
just read the high reaper's gift, was not ready for that
nah i think you're right about that
hard agree on that
hi hi, just got the kids down
yeah the permission reading is right, it is about who is allowed to look
roughly four hundred years i think, but the records are vague on purpose
the hearth table atmosphere is just perfect
can someone explain the weapon tiers to me, is a higher tier better odds or does it change the story itself
too tired to read but too awake to sleep
that one hit harder than i expected too
why is this place always dead at 4am when i'm actually on
it's 2am and I have work tomorrow, oh well
checking in before bed
hello from across the pond
hello, new account, old reader
3am and I am reading fantasy novels, living my best life
agreed, though i would argue the earlier one edges it
i was just about to say that
the way aeliths visions are written, does anyone else find them genuinely unsettling to read at night
just finished the newest record, need a minute
the lore vault is a rabbit hole, lost two hours in there last night
evening, the rain finally stopped here
the fire in this virtual tavern is warmer than my actual apartment
new chapter when though
quiz questions got harder, failed one today lol
right? I thought the same thing
yes, this exactly
finally pulled that card I've been chasing for weeks
is varan actually falling or was he always this and the crown just stopped hiding it
the scavenger hunt was actually really fun
anyone else working through the lore vault?
just joined the archive, where should I start?
evening, quiet tonight huh
happy sunday everyone
afternoon all
the bazaar prices are getting ridiculous tbh
good catch, genuinely
back from a trip, catching up on everything
the weekend is almost over, why does time go so fast
does anyone else reread the dossiers after a new record drops, they hit differently once you know more
yes, this exactly
it's 2am and I have work tomorrow, oh well
varan's descent is still the best part of this whole series, fight me
i love that nothing in this world is explained twice
hey hey
anyone else read the dossiers before the chapters, feels right somehow
friday night and I have no social obligations, perfect
disagree but respectfully
just finished the newest record, need a minute
the lore vault is a rabbit hole, lost two hours in there last night
i am the only person in my house still awake
sup
hey, anyone on
right, i thought it was just me
the newest chapter answered a question i had forgotten i had
back, what'd i miss
anyone else doing the scavenger hunt?
wait really? i read that completely differently
morning, anyone else up unreasonably early
sick day, so I'm marathoning the chronicles
long week, no plans this weekend, very happy about it
anyone else got the Gambit-Crowned rarity? seems impossible

Coming to the Table
Dominion's Gambit Card Trading
Soon, collectors will be able to propose card trades across the Hearth Table — offering their duplicates, requesting missing relics, and negotiating deals in the shadow of the fire.
✦ The Hearth's Keepers ✦
Those Who Keep the Hearth
Two figures remain at their posts when the roads grow dangerous and the rooms fill with smoke. Each has something to offer — for the right price, the right patience, or the right courage.

Master of the Golden Hearth · The Bar
Bromm Blackpipe
Hearth Menu & Provisions
"Drink first, decide later. That's how most men survive the first half of a bad night."
Bromm Blackpipe keeps the Golden Hearth burning when the roads grow cold. His pipe is too large, his laugh is too loud, and his cellar is better stocked than some royal kitchens.
✦ Bromm's Hearth Menu ✦
"You eat at my table, you read longer. That's the whole trick of it. Every plate and every cup carries a chance — never a promise — of a little more Dust in your pocket when you turn a page. Small blessings, stacked one on another. Nobody's ever gotten rich off my stew, but I've watched men read half the archive on a full belly and a bad ale."
— Bromm Blackpipe, on provisions

Drink
Emberroot Ale
A deep amber brew made from roots pulled near volcanic vents. Burns going down. Warms for hours.

Drink
Blackbarrel Mead
Aged in charred barrels buried under the foundation. Sweet first, bitter after. Regulars order it twice.

Food
Moonwheat Bread
Dense, pale, and faintly silver. Baked with flour ground from grains grown where moonlight never fades.

Food
Hearth-Stewed Venison
Three hours in the pot, herbs from Bromm's private stores, bones split for marrow. The regulars eat it with their hands.

Food
Gravepepper Broth
Black pepper sourced only from funeral-ground soil. Kills the cold. Not for the faint of constitution.

Special
Hunter's Supper
A full plate, a full mug, and a wrapped provision for the road. Everything a hunter needs before dark work.

Drink
Lanternman's Bitter
Named for those who light the road lanterns before dawn. Pungent, dark, and startlingly effective.

Food
Ashapple Tart
The ash dusting the top is intentional. The apple underneath is too sweet to notice.

Drink
Hollowroot Cider
Pressed from orchard roots that only bear fruit after the first hard frost. Cloudy, sharp, and faintly smoky, poured cold in a clay cup.

Drink
Grave-Mist Porter
A black porter brewed with fog-herb gathered at dawn. Pours with a head like breath on cold glass, and tastes of burnt sugar and wet stone.

Drink
Emberfall Mulled Wine
Spiced wine kept warm on the hearthstone all evening, studded with dried orchard fruit and a curl of peel. Best taken slowly, and never in a hurry.

Drink
The Long Dusk
A slow, oak-dark sipping spirit served in a thimble, because that is genuinely all anyone needs. Warm the whole way down.

Drink
Crowfeather Stout
A dark stout with a bitter, iron-edged finish. The sort of drink that makes a cold room feel like a decision rather than a punishment.

Food
Spiced Turnip & Bramble Stew
Root vegetables and hedgerow berries simmered until the whole pot goes dark purple. Thick enough to stand a spoon in, served with bread you will want more of.

Food
Harvest Ash Pie
A deep pie of late orchard fruit beneath a crust dusted with sweet ash. The ash is deliberate. The fruit underneath is too good to argue about.

Food
Smoked Boar with Windfall Chutney
Boar smoked slow over applewood, carved thick, and laid beside a chutney made from fruit too bruised to sell. The chutney is the point.

Food
Barley & Bone Broth
Marrow bones split and simmered half a day with toasted barley and garden herbs. Poured into a heavy mug and drunk standing up, as intended.

Food
Candied Chestnuts in Dark Honey
Chestnuts roasted over the hearth fire, then glazed in honey so dark it is nearly black. Served in a paper twist. Gone in minutes.

The Strider in the Corner · Silent Veil
Vaeric Noct
Trinkets & Silent Veil Relics
"Do not buy what you are unwilling to carry."
No one remembers when Vaeric Noct first took the corner table. Some call him a recruiter. Some call him a warning. Through him, visitors may purchase trinkets tied to the Silent Veil, Umbral Keep, old oaths, and the dangerous work of those who bind what must not wander.
✦ The Strider's Trinkets ✦

Blackglass Charm
Worn
A shard of black glass set in twisted iron wire. Warm to the touch despite the cold. Those who carry it claim it remembers every dark place they have visited.

✦
Lantern Shard
Worn
A fragment of a Veil lantern, still faintly glowing. It remembers what it illuminated. Vaeric will not say where the rest of the lantern went.

✦
Veilbone Ring
Worn
Carved from a bone of uncertain origin. Three runes the Veil insists are not letters. It fits every finger, always.

Ashen Thread
Bound
A thread from a burned ceremonial robe. Supposedly prevents cold panic during hunts. Vaeric advises keeping it braided around the wrist, never the neck.

✦ ✦
Warden's Token
Worn
A pressed wax seal from an old Warden order. The organization no longer exists. The token still works. Vaeric has three; he sells only the ones that have not spoken.

✦ ✦
Grief-Coin
Bound
A coin that has been buried with three different people and exhumed twice. Whoever holds it dreams of bells. Vaeric keeps it behind glass for a reason.

✦ ✦ ✦
Hollow Brass Eye
Oathmarked
Vaeric doesn't say where it came from. Only that it has seen something you haven't. The pupil at the center is not painted — it shifts with the light source.

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Arawnic Seal
Forbidden
One exists. That is all Vaeric will say. He placed it here himself. He will not explain why it is for sale. The price is not a mistake.

✦ Golden Hearth Tavern · Rear Wall ✦
The Black Writ Board
Sanctioned Hunts. Beast Notices. Forbidden Writs.
A scarred wooden board near the rear of the tavern where sanctioned hunts, beast notices, missing-person warnings, curse reports, and forbidden writs are nailed into the wood. The payment is honored by the Golden Hearth. The risk is yours alone.
System Status
Interactive Hunts — Coming Soon
The writs below are currently sealed. When the hunt system goes live, each writ will open into a full immersive reading-based hunt with story sections, choices, consequences, and exclusive rewards.
A word from the corner table · Vaeric Noct
"You will notice my trinkets do not look like weapons. They are not. A blade opens a throat — a trinket opens a door. Some of the writs on that board cannot be taken at all without one. The board will simply refuse you, and you will never be told why. Others will let you in and then watch you die slowly, because you went in bare. Three times a trinket will answer for you. On the third it is spent, and it will not be in your pouch when you reach for it again. Buy carefully. Carry what the work requires, and nothing more."
Trinkets are carried in the Wayfarer Pouch. Some are required simply to open certain Black Writ Board hunts — without them the writ will not accept you at all. Others do not gate the hunt but decide how it goes, working exactly as weapons do: the higher the tier, the fewer wrong choices the dark will offer you.
Every trinket answers for three uses. On the third it is consumed and removed from the pouch for good. Vaeric does not restock. He does not need to.

Common Steel
Carries no weight — flavour and luck alone
✦
Wrought Star
Opens the lowest writs. A small steadying edge in the dark.
✦ ✦
Ember Star
Opens sealed writs. Turns aside one bad choice per hunt.
✦ ✦ ✦
Hollow Star
Opens Veil-sanctioned writs. Most failures will not find you.
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Astral Star
One exists. What it opens is not written down anywhere.
Trinkets are sold by Vaeric Noct at the Golden Hearth.
Hunt Weapon Tier System
Every writ requires an equipped weapon before entry. Higher-tier weapons reduce the number of wrong choices shown during hunt encounters — making survival dramatically easier. Equip weapons from Eshar's Armory in the Bazaar before you take the writ.

✦ Current Writs ✦
Grim · Hollowfen — Northern Reeds
The Hollowfen Cry
Something moves in the reedbeds north of Hollowfen. Livestock gone. Voices heard from the water at dusk. No one who went to look has returned with a clear memory.
Grim · The East Mire
The Beast in the Reeds
Reports of a thing that breathes like a man but does not stand like one. The millers near the East Mire say it steals the sick. The Wardens say nothing.
Dire · The Ashen Mire
The Bell Beneath the Mire
A bell has rung in the Ashen Mire every night for six years. No bell exists there. Three hunters went to find it. Two never spoke again. One still rings a hand bell in the asylum at Caldrath.
Dire · The Gray Valley
The Thing Wearing the Shepherd's Voice
It found the shepherd first. Now it wears his voice to bring the flocks in at night. The shepherd's wife says it does not blink. It hasn't left the valley in three months.
Forsaken · [Classified — Veil Eyes Only]
The Black-Clawed Writ
The Silent Veil has sealed the full notice with black wax. What is visible: eight bodies. What remains: unknown. The reward is significant. The Veil is desperate. That alone should worry you.
"Toll paid in blood has weight. Remember this."
— The Golden Hearth Board
"The fire will not last forever. Neither will you. Drink while it burns."
